Horsham PoliceGood Morning Resident, A dog owner has agreed strict conditions to keep their pet under control in Horsham. It follows a report of a brown Chow Chow being dangerously out of control in January in the Granary Way and Longfield Drive area. The dog was safely secured by a neighbour. We have investigated the incident, and the owner attended a voluntary interview. We can confirm the owner has received a conditional caution as part of enforcement action we have taken, and is required to have a secure garden and fence, secure the dog in a cage inside their home if the door is answered, keep the dog muzzled and on a secure lead in public at all times, and keep it in the control of an adult over the age of 18. These conditions will be monitored, and residents with further concerns can report them to us. We understand the impact incidents like this can have on the local community and we want to reassure residents that reports are taken seriously and action is taken where offences are identified. If you witness a dog behaving aggressively or dangerously out of control in public, please report it to us. In an emergency, always call 999.
